Processing Sound, Sound Design, Mixing and Golden Ear

This module deals with the critical analysis, synthesis, processing and mixing of sound. Various synthesis techniques are explored as well as advanced principles for processing and mixing audio.
The mixing process includes fixing, separation (un-masking using EQ), dynamic processing, balancing, panning, spatial processing (adding reverb and delays), automation and finalizing the mix.
Learners are given various multi-track recordings to practice on and are guided through the mixing process.
In the tutorial classes, learners are required to create and process various sounds from first principles.
